There are several ways to pay taxes, online and in person. You can pay online by clicking here. You can pay in person at our Lake City and Fort White offices. In Lake City we have a drop box for payments and you may also use the drive-thru to pay taxes.
The tax bills are mailed every year on or before November 1st. These are due by March 31st the following year. If you pay your taxes early you are entitled to a discount of 4% during the month of November, 3% December, 2% January and 1% in February. Taxes become delinquent on April 1; if taxes are not paid a tax certificate will be sold on or before June 1. If you do not receive a tax bill please call us at (386) 758-1077.
Currently Florida Statutes allows for two options in making payments on your taxes. The Partial Payment Plan is allowed on current taxes only. We have a page dedicated to Partial Payments. If you will follow the link below you will be taken to our Partial Payment page.

Millage is the percentage rate at which property is taxed. Each taxing authority (school board, County Commission, Suwannee River Water Management, etc.) sets its own millage rate.
The Property Appraiser may not have been notified of the sale, or the sale took place after the tax roll was prepared. The Property Appraiser prepares the tax roll on or about July 1st. Therefore, any sale occurring after that day may not reflect the new owner's information. We suggest that you complete the Address Change Form found on our website. We will forward this request to their office but it is your responsibility to follow up with the Property Appraiser to make sure they have received it. First, one of our staff members will direct you to a computer station where you will complete an on-line application form. (Please note that you do not need to complete an application form in advance.) We will review your application for completeness and notarize it. Then, we will take your photograph and electronically scan your fingerprints.
You should be able to complete the entire process in an hour or less.
By law, FDACS has 90 days from the date your application is submitted to process it (Section 790.06, Florida Statutes). However, using our fast-track process, the wait is considerably shorter. You may always check on the status of your application by calling (850) 245-5691 and selecting option 1.
No, our office will simply be accepting applications, taking ID photos and fingerprinting applicants. The FDACS will continue to process all applications and make determinations regarding an applicant’s eligibility for licensure.
This convenience does not change the integrity of the concealed weapon license program. All personal identifying information of applicants and licensees will continue to be confidential and exempt from disclosure as public records. (Section 790.0601, Florida Statutes)
