It is the policy of the State of Florida that all state records are open for public inspection. This policy is embodied in the Florida Constitution, together with the right of an individual to be free from unauthorized governmental intrusion into his/her private life, as provided in Article 1, Section 23. In recognition of these policies, the Tax Collector has established this Internet Privacy Policy.

The Tax Collector is a duly elected, state-constitution officer, whose duty is to carry forth the requirements of Florida law governing Tax Collector.  Florida Tax Collectors fall within the broad definition of “agencies” to which Florida’s Public Records laws apply.  § 119.011(2), Florida Statutes.  Therefore, in an abundance of caution, the Tax Collector for Columbia County, Ronnie Brannon operates this website in accordance with Florida’s Public Records Policy.
